Overview

Compator provides an energy efficient platform using a new approach to access compute, store and process data, and to use and make apps. Designed to minimise energy requirements, it delivers fast and reliable processing with a fraction of the compute, therefore needing less machines, removing the need for large and costly data centres.

Implementation

We are working with local partners to find suitable locations for micro-data centres (MDCs), such as schools or hospitals. MDCs connect to each other to form a wider local Compator Cloud network that can also connect to the internet. This gives access to compute in remote and underserved areas, where the priority is data processing and storage rather than continuous access to the internet.

  • Reduces reliance on limited local bandwidth, saving overheads and promoting regional growth for SME.
  • Provides access to educational materials and storage for medical equipment for people in rural communities.
  • Compator is training software engineers to use the elegant new programming language (which is straightforward to learn), improving digital literacy building a library of apps for the platform.
